There's a particular quiet you only find where a town used to be. Bloom has it. Jeremy Bloom (born April 2, 1982) is an American former skier and football player. As a skier, he is a one-time world champion, two-time Olympian, and 10-time World Cup gold medalist.

Otero County holds 2 documented ghost towns, including Bent's Old Fort — Bloom keeps them company on the map.

The story of Bloom

Colorado's high-country ghost towns sit at altitudes that would give a flatlander nosebleeds — silver camps killed by an 1893 vote in Washington.

He was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in 2013. Bloom was a Freshman All-American at the University of Colorado. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2006 NFL draft and was also a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but did not play in a regular season game for either team. Bloom later went into business.
