Siloam Springs is the lone documented ghost town in Gentry County — for now.
The story of Siloam Springs
Missouri's ghost towns run from lead diggings to river ports the railroad left behind.
Siloam Springs is an unincorporated community in western Howell County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately two miles south of Route 14 on Missouri Route T, just east of the southeastern corner of Douglas County and fifteen miles northwest of West Plains. Waters from the associated spring flow west and enter Tabor Creek, which then flows into Spring Creek, a tributary to the Norfork River in the southeast corner of Douglas County. The site is at an elevation of 1,060 ft (320 m). A post office called Siloam Springs was established in 1879, and remained in operation until 1969.
Siloam Springs sold the one thing the country around it didn't have: water.
What you'll find today

Nobody has confirmed the access situation, so treat any visit as reconnaissance: verify land ownership first, and be ready to admire from the road.
Getting there
Here's the honest truth: access to Siloam Springs is unverified. We couldn't confirm whether the site sits on public land, private property, or something in between — so verify land ownership and local rules before visiting, and respect private property at all times.
Good to know
Ghost-town etiquette is simple: take only photographs. Removing artifacts is illegal on public lands and disrespectful everywhere else — and on federal land it can be a serious offense.
